Today, for a nursery, sustainability is no longer just an ecological choice, but an economic necessity. Among the highest costs and the heaviest environmental impact is certainly the management of plastic containers and trays.
Is there a way to reduce waste and save money?
Yes: stop using plastic as single-use and start reusing it safely.
The problem: the risk of contamination
Many nursery owners throw away used containers for fear of disease. Residues of soil, fungi and bacteria from the previous cycle can indeed nest in the trays and affect new seedlings. Manual washing, besides requiring too much time and too much water, often fails to guarantee a complete and uniform clean.
The solution: Atlantic Man. automation
Our automatic washing systems were created precisely to solve this problem, optimizing the recovery process and making it safe for production.
Here's how they work and why they're worth it:
- Washing and sanitizing effectiveness: Thanks to high-pressure water jets and dosing systems for sanitizing products, the machines remove coarse dirt and drastically reduce the pathogen load. The container becomes suitable and safe again to host a new growing cycle.
- Water savings: Our systems are designed to recycle and recirculate water through dedicated mechanical filtration systems, minimizing water waste compared to traditional washing.
- Lower costs, higher profit: By reusing trays for multiple cycles, spending on new plastic is cut and waste disposal costs are reduced. This also allows for investment in sturdier, longer-lasting containers, which simplify and optimize handling along the entire production line.
The LVC range by Atlantic Man.
To meet every type of production need, we have developed specific machinery entirely built in AISI304 stainless steel, capable of combining the action of high-pressure water jets with effective mechanical brushing on both sides of the containers:
The ideal solution for those seeking compactness and efficiency. It allows washing and disinfecting seed trays, trays and crates of any material and size positioned vertically, reaching a production capacity of up to 400 containers per hour. For maximum productivity, it can be integrated with optional automatic de-stacking modules at the infeed and automatic stacking modules at the outfeed.
Designed for large nurseries that handle massive material flows, this automatic line with a tipping system reaches an adjustable working speed of up to 1,000-1,200 containers per hour. The process is fully automated: it includes as standard an automatic de-stacker for dirty containers, a grid equipped with as many as 52 high-pressure nozzles, an air blower for drip-drying, and the final stacker.
A smart choice for the future
With Atlantic Man. technologies, reducing plastic in the greenhouse becomes simple and convenient. Washing and reusing means optimizing working time, protecting the environment and, above all, growing your business sustainably.
